Some fine Pedal Steel playing by "Dave Knight". Another fine Wiley Sound Studios production from Tacoma , Wa. Sawed Off Shotgun http://www.box.net/shared/bdx7yzsu2t
Did you know the Doug Hewitt labels "Piece" and "Feasible" (Daze of the Week, Grotesque Mommies) are considered "song poem" labels?!?!?!? The flip side of the Daze of the Week 45 was written by an old lady!?!? I have the Lenny Joint and the Roaches 45. Another "song poem".
whats the lenny joint & the roches 45 like ? i always thought that never came out. i see mark harness at the goodwill. oh hasil adkins had a 45 on doug hewitts label
I have my turntables disconnected right now (hence my reliance on Mr. Ed Music Round Up to listen to records), when I get it set up again I'll make an Mp3 of Lenny Joint and the Roaches. I seem to remember it didn't live up to the band name. It might be pretty kick ass though after all this time!!!
gee kurt thanks for all your fabulous comments from all your different personalities. i tried that link & the photo of lenny roach don't come up. i saw you walking down 48th street today. drove down to half price books to get bon the bullit action figure. later ed
the b side to the daze of the week is a song poem that some old lady sent in . apparently they did it as a joke with a kazoo &all. the way that mark described it was funnier than shit
Yes I was going to the Mall to get some new shoes. When I was in there I saw a kid who had pants made with the "Vans" checkerboard pattern. He was getting lot's of chicks!!!
Here's a new abbreviated link to Lenny Joint:

I wonder if this is Mark Harkness and band? Next time you run into him you should ask about this. I've had this for a long time and didn't even realize it came out of Tacoma!! I guess Pat O'Day wasn't into the Grotesque Mommies because they used a lawn mower and drill as part of their act!! Damn!!! These guys sound like THEE original northwest punks. What a bunch of smart-asses!! Taking some old lady's song and butchering it up and sending it back to her and probably charging money to do it!! Brilliant.
i asked mark about any of the other records doug hewitt did & the only one he mentions is the two he did. he mentioned he had a cdr of daze of the week songs but can't find it.
