showing my 'roots' here...but the first version i ever heard was by Johnny Thunders...
There was also a version of "Daddy Rolling Stone" by Ottawa, Canada Group-The Characters. They had 2 singles on Red Leaf records - both produced by Vern Craig of the Staccatos(later to become the Five Man ELectrical Band).
